The Strong Democracy Agenda is a Pacto pela Democracia initiative designed to protect the democratic rule of law in Brazil. Structured around eight fundamental pillars, the Agenda promotes reflection and proposes guidelines to strengthen Brazilian democracy, make it more resilient to authoritarian threats, and help ensure that events such as those of January 8, 2023, never happen again.
The Chamber of Deputies is a central institution in Brazilian democracy and requires ongoing oversight by civil society. In response to challenges related to transparency and civic participation, Pacto pela Democracia developed a document, technically coordinated by Guilherme France and Beatriz Rey, proposing ten reforms to the Chamber’s Internal Rules to increase transparency, efficiency, and public oversight.
